Une bonne semaine

Over the past couple of weeks, the children have been learning how to sing the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Feet… in French. I’m sure you will agree that 4K are very tuneful. Next week is 4B’s turn.

Our work in RE involved some quiet mindfulness time. During this time, they imagined and drew a special, happy place that they would like to be. Perhaps if your child is feeling upset or stressed, you could ask them to think about image to help them through.

In Maths, we have continued to practise the short multiplication method. This does require a good times table knowledge and so is still a major focus in all our work in school and at home.

English this week has focused on building towards the children writing their own chapter of the story, Bills New Frock. We have planned the dilemmas he may face and the next stage is to write the paragraphs.

Our learning log work over the next two week is to write a 500 work story. This is with a view to entering them into the BBC Radio 2 competition. All stories will be entered unless we hear that you would prefer otherwise. Stories can be written by hand but sending it to your child’s class teacher via email is preferable as we cannot edit or correct any errors when transcribing it. Word processing also allows for easier editing and correcting by the writer. If you need guidance or want to check the rules, these can be found at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00rfvk1 and following the links. We look forward to reading your child’s stories. Good luck.

Finally, the Year 4 childen involved in the under 9s fotball cup match deserve a mention for their effort. Although they lost the match, there is plenty to be optimistic about as this was their first match as a team together. Well done L.J., Jack, Yaseen, Rhys, Isabel, Erin, Yahya, Todd and Milo.

Special mentions this week go to Todd, Zahra, Isabel and Isaac. Great week guys!

Have a great weekend.

Mr Beevers, Mrs Kroon, Ms Howells and all the Year 4 team.
