Boris’ den – Number 10

This week in Maths, we have been focusing on division. We started by using mental methods to divide two digit numbers then moved on to the formal, bus stop method. In order for the children to do this effectively, they need a good times table knowledge so it was “eyes down, look in for a full house”, when we played mental maths bingo.

In English, the children have been writing their own dilemma story. We have had plenty of creative solutions to being bullied or wearing the wrong clothes. Thankfully, most of the stories have happy endings.

On the theme of writing, we have had a steady stream of 500 word stories coming in via email. The creativeness is great to see with plenty of entertaining tales, which makes us glad we aren’t the judges. Keep them coming please.

In PE, 4B are making a great job of learning their dance with their instructor, Sally. The children found out this week that their final performance will be in front of an audience, in the shape of 3C. (Plus the video will be posted on the blog.)

4K (and Mrs Kroon) are working hard and having a fun time at Gymmagic, practising their gymnastic (and toe pointing) skills.

Have a great weekend.

The Year 4 team.

p.s. The video of 4B singing will hopefully be available next week.
