4C’s week

Friday 7th December | 3 comments

Hello all,

We have had an exciting week this week in 4C.

In Literacy, we wrote our own legends based on the ones that we have read. There were some great, imaginative stories and the children included some excellent features in their writing. They also worked hard to edit and improve what they had written and we had some fantastic final pieces.

In Maths, we have looked at perimeter and kilometres. We used  supermovers to help us learn about the different measurements. If you type in BBC supermovers Max and Harvey measurement the video will come up and I’m sure your child will love showing off their moves and knowledge! The class also worked very well as a team to measure the perimeter of the playground.

In Science, we have continued with our sound topic. Today we looked at predictions and testing our predictions. The children really enjoyed making some quick shakers and testing them to see which were the loudest. See if they can tell you what we measure volume in?

In RE, we have concluded our topic of light. The children have been very engaged throughout the topic and we have had some thoughtful discussions about what light means and how it is celebrated in different religions. We concluded this topic by making christingles. See if your child can tell you what the different parts of the christingle represent.

Next week is a very busy week particularly with rehearsals. Well done to all those who are practising so hard for the Christmas play. Next week is also the final swimming session which will be a “fun” session.

Thank you and have a good weekend.

Miss Chambers
