A new term begins in 4K

Thursday 10th January | 2 comments

Hi all,

We hope you have all had a great holidays and are feeling well rested. We have had a fantastic start to the year and the children have come back with a great attitude to learning.

In Maths, we have continued work on multiplication and division. Homework has been set on multiplying by 10 and 100. Please look at the website link here for more help and information.

Our literacy topic this term is Stories with Issues and Dilemmas. We begun by finding out what an issue or dilemma is. We then watched a short Pixar movie called One Man Band, where a little girl has a difficult dilemma over which musician to give her money to.

Our music topic this term is to learn, compose and perform a rap. We have listened to a rap called Stop Bullying which the children really enjoyed. Ask them, they may be able to sing it to you.

We have two science topics this term, classification and digestion. The children used a branching key to identify different pond creatures.

In PSHE we are learning about staying healthy.

We hope to be swimming as normal next week. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for refurbishment this week.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Kroon and the Year 4 team.

Hannah did the bullying rap on the way home. I’m pleased that she was looking forward to being back at school.
