Hi all,

We hope you have all had a great holiday and are feeling well rested. We have had a fantastic start to the year and the children have come back with a great attitude to learning.

In Maths, we have continued our work on multiplication and division. Homework has been set on multiplying by  100. Please look at the website link here for more help and information.

We will be moving on to dividing by 10 and 100 next week.

We are looking at stories with issues and dilemmas this half term in Literacy. The children had great fun completing lots of different role play activities this week. We first had to decide what the difference was between an issue or a dilemma by acting out a few examples. See if the children can tell you the two main differences. We then looked at a girl’s dilemma in the pixar short film “One man band”. The children completed role play activities to work on their persuasion skills and they needed to convince me why they should have the coin!

The Science topics this half term are classification and digestion. We have started both this week.

Please note that currently swimming will not be taking place next week due to continued maintenance work. We will update you if this changes.

Have a good weekend.

Miss Chambers

Happy New Year to you all. Sounds like it’s been an interesting learning week. I wonder what the best persuasion techniques were for the coin?
