Here comes the sun…

Friday 21st May | 1 comment

Contrary to the title, we have had a very wet week at Farfield this week. However, the children haven’t let it dampen their moods and we have managed to see glimpses of sunshine. We took the opportunity to get outside and practise our playscripts while the sun was out. We looked at a play called “Tricky biscuits” which involved some imaginary biscuit making and we adapted a short extract from Horrid Henry into a play. The children seemed to struggle with drama when we first started this topic which could be due to lockdown. However, they’ve soon got back into the swing of things and have impressed us with how quickly they’ve done this.

In Maths, the children have continued to work on decimals. Maths homework is in the Maths Google Classroom (ordering decimals). Please make sure this is handed in by Wednesday and we will be checking which children have handed homework in.

The children have continued to work on the Islamic Golden Age in History which is proving to be very popular. They’re also enjoying the states of matter topic in Science.

We have now received most of our consent forms for the Murton Park trip. Please make sure your child hands this in ASAP if not as they will not be able to attend without parental permission. We may have also organised another trip for later in the year… Watch this space!

English homework can be found on the English Lockdown classroom and is spelling looking at the suffix -ous. Again, this matches what we have done in class so children should be able to complete this independently. Please make sure your child has completed this by Wednesday.

Have a lovely weekend and hopefully we will see some sunshine!
